Progressive Collapse Resistance Mechanism of RC Frame Structure Considering Reinforcement Corrosion

چکیده
Corrosion causes reduction in cross-sectional area of reinforcement, deterioration mechanical properties, and degradation bonding properties between reinforced concrete, which are the most important factors leading to structural service performance. In order investigate progressive collapse mechanism a corroded concrete frame structure, failure modes, characteristics vertical displacement, load capacity studied using finite element method. Based on existing experimental research, established model is verified, influence different influencing analyzed. The results show that corrosion reinforcement affects yield load, peak ultimate substructure. As rate increases, tensile arch action shows particularly severe deterioration. variation strength height–span ratio substructure’s load-bearing much more significantly than stirrup spacing.

Comparison of Progressive Collapse Resistance of Frame with Specially Shaped Columns and Frame with Rectangular Columns
Original scientific paper RC frame structures with specially shaped columns and RC frame structures with rectangular columns are different types of structures with different column sections. A progressive collapse analysis model of RC frames was proposed using the beam-column element and joint element based on the program OpenSees. Progressive collapse performance of the experimental frame was ...
متن کاملEffect of Structural Height on the Location of Key Element in Progressive Collapse of RC Structures
After the failure of an element in a structure, its loads should be redistributed on the other elements and the structure must provide some new paths to carry the load. If such new load paths are not provided, collapse progression will begin in the structure. As the beginning of progressive collapse in a structure is more sensitive to the missing of an element, the location of that element is m...
متن کاملNumerical Study of Progressive Collapse in Intermediate Moment Resisting Reinforced Concrete Frame Due to Column Removal
Progressive collapse is a chain reaction of failures propagating throughout a portion of the structure disproportionate to the original local failure occurring when a sudden loss of a critical load‐bearing element initiates a structural element failure, eventually resulting in partial or full collapse of the structure. Both General Services Administration (GSA) and United States Department of D...
متن کاملEffect of Initial Local Failure Type on Steel Braced Frame Buildings against Progressive Collapse
In many studies, the alternative load path method (APM) has been used for progressive collapse analysis. In this method, one or several columns of the building are removed and the building response is investigated. This method ignores the initial local failure cause of building and this can affect the structural response. Investigation of ignoring the initial local failure cause of steel braced...
متن کاملInvestigation of Double-layer Grid Space Structurer Resistance to Progressive Collapse
Considering the vulnerability of double-layer grid space structures to progressive collapse phenomenon, it is necessary to pay special attention to this phenomenon in the design process. Alternate path method is one of the most appropriate and accepted methods for progressive collapse resistant design of structures. Alternate Path Method permits local failure to occur but provides alternate pat...
